That shine just looks incredibly elegant. And it literally feels exactly like velvet! Himalaya Velvet isn't your standard chenille yarn; it has a wonderfully even, beautifully closed surface. It sits perfectly against the skin with absolutely zero scratchiness or itch. It’s totally perfect for whipping up throws, throw pillows, sweaters, or scarves—basically, all those things you want to look at and immediately reach out and touch!

The yardage is 120 meters per 100 grams. It works up incredibly fast because the yarn has a nice, sturdy thickness to it. It glides like an absolute dream while you're knitting, and the stitches end up wonderfully dense and compact. The super practical part for everyday use: it doesn’t warp or stretch out of shape at all. Even after multiple trips through the washing machine, it holds its form beautifully!

Needle sizes of 6 to 7 mm. If you want to knit something that fits absolutely perfectly, definitely make a quick gauge swatch beforehand. You really don't need a super tight tension—simple stitch patterns are completely all you need to let that gorgeous velvety surface truly steal the show!

I have to say, I was a bit skeptical at first. "Velvet" always makes me think of shedding and quick wear. But this one is different. The surface stays perfectly intact even after multiple washes—nothing is scratchy, and it doesn't shed at all. My tip: if you’re making a scarf out of it, go up a full needle size so it turns out beautifully soft and has a much better drape. For pillows, it's better to knit a bit more tightly so they don't stretch out of shape.
